  Dark ruby red, almost purple color. Complex nose of currants, pencil lead, cassis, cream, violet, got some strong herbaceous scents in the beginning, but with more aeration, it subsided quite a bit, and added dark chocolate, rust. medium plus bodied, note of smoke, earth, black and purple fruits, green pepper, mushroom, though not truly balanced. Very firm, yet dry tannins, not smooth enough mouth feel, lacking the harmony. Finish of smoke, espresso bean and spice. Got a bit warmth in the finish.
