Purchased at the winery, from a somewhat cantakerous old gent. Smoky, interesting, and finishing with notes of...caramel. A fun yet weird blend, and quite indicative of the Applegate in terms of terror and style.

Cherry, white chocolate, and moderate tannins come together in an unworldly, yet marvelous taste. But the true brilliance of the wine is in the nose. The aforementioned tasing notes are only exemplified; one could swirl and sniff for hours. By far the jewel of our Applegate collection.
Cabernet Sauvignon Troon Vineyard 2008 one year ago

A wonderful offering from the Applegate Valley. Perhaps their strongest varietal, this wine starts with cherry on the nose, and ends the olfactory assault with hints of leather and tobacco. Illusory nods to a Cohiba retrieved from a thrift store cowboy boot, delivered in the best possible way. A big, somewhat typical cab in taste, this Troon is worth the price of admission.

A strangely floral and tropical Gewurtz. Akin to the initial aroma one experiences after touching down at an equitorial airport. Notes of hibiscus and torch ginger on the nose, with a semi-sweet taste to finish. Applegate valley's finest winery has scored a hit with this one.
