- Dark core, with slight pink at the rim. Wonderful nose, sharp scents of blackberry, violet, cigar box, licorice, caramelized cherry, hint of barnyard and crushed stone. Very floral, nice. Close to full bodied, long legs. Creamy, yet tight, tobacco, red cherry, but with a bit of heat and bitterness near the end. Tannins seem to be less than expected of a 2006, round and quite fine, but dry. At a good place right now. With good level of aromas and complexity.
- A young Bordeaux, inky in color. Take a bit of effort, aromas of black currants, menthol, stone, cigar smoke, cloves, and some flowers amd oak, light but decent nose. Close to full bodied, chunky, tannic mouth feel, need to sleep. Palate still need some time to come together, lacking a good balance, yet structured for aging, good amount of acidity accompanying the tannins. Taste of dark chocolate, smoked cherry, licorice. Finish of oaky smoke, flower, and tea leaf. Rest or decant.
- Dark, opaque ruby, with light red rim. Aromas of pencil lead, barnyard, menthol, tea, currants, ripe plum. Quite tannic, yet quite well integrated. Taste of smoked cherry, damp earth, minerals, truffle, Close to full bodied mouth feel, juicy, not too ripe. Kept evolving, with blueberry, strong, alluring minerals. Sexy nose, unstoppable. Strong cigar, dark chocolate After taste of minerals, tea leaf, burnt wood, like chewing a cigar bud.
