Sue was loking forward to this Shiraz wich tasted fine at the winery but was dissapointing at home. Konzelmann Estate Winery Shiraz 2011. Mild smoke, black cherry and pepper find their way to the nose and palate of this meduim bodied Shir az. Its well intergrated tannin and lively mouth feel provide dimensions against sweeter red fruit and vanilla flavours. Black pepper steak, angus beef or pullrd pork would all be succulent complements to this spicy wine, but nearly any barbecued food will enhance its soft smokiness. 13% alc.

Sue's favorite Malbec. Marcus James 2011 Malbec. Argentina. Vineyards were first planted in Argentina in the mid 16th century with grape cuttings bought over by European immigrants. Malbec, the most widely planted varietal in Argentina today, may have originated in Europe, but it has found its perfect expression in Argentina, where winemakers hav made it there specialty, creating Argentinas best red. This Mendosa Malbec has a magnificent complexity and an outstanding depth of delicious berry notes and hints of spice. 13.5%
